Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has charged secretaries of government especially in the All Progressives Congress APC controlled states to come up with policy framework that will translate physical development.
The governor gave the charge while declaring open the Progressive Governors Forum quarterly meeting of Secretaries to Government of States held in Akure with the theme “Setting Enabling Framework for Implementation of PGF Policy Briefs”.
Akeredolu said, bringing engine rooms of various governments together to formulate policies that would better the lives of the people couldn’t have come at a better time.
He stressed that effective coordination and sustained government activities are the most effective way to achieve set objectives for purposeful governance.
Akeredolu explained that real development could only occur when all governments adopt policies that will suit local circumstances and implement them for the benefit of the people.
He further stressed the need for increasing cooperation among All Progressives Congress (APC) controlled states as essential for implementation of the cardinal objectives of the party.
The Director General of the Progressive Governors Forum, Saliu Luqman while highlighting the achievements of the forum since its inception noted that the need to identify initiative of the APC states government for uniformity informed the meeting.
The Secretary to Government of Ondo State, Ifedayo Abegunde while welcoming participants to the meeting, expressed confidence that the exercise will enhance effectiveness in the APC led states.
