Comrade Bola Taiwo has emerged the new president of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE in Ondo state.

 

He replaces Dr. Bunmi Eniayewu who was recently appointed Acting Permanent Secretary, Local Government Pension Board.

 

Taiwo, an Engineer, in Ondo west council area, was elected at a by-election by the state executive council comprising 21 branch chairmen and 10 members of the state administrative council at the NULGE resort center,  Owode, in Akure North Council Area.

 

Speaking to newsmen, Com Taiwo thanked his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him and vowed to bring everybody together saying there was no ‘victor or vanquished’.

 

The immediate past president, Dr Eniayewu thanked the union for the opportunity to serve and promised to always protect their interest in his new office.

 

Comrade Chuks Nwanko who presided over the election as the NULGE national Secretariat representative urged the new president to make unity and responsive unionism his watchword.
