The duo of Reuben Bala and Abdulrahman Bashir inspired Enyimba to the top of the ongoing Nigerian Professional Football League Super Six
after an impressive performance earned them a 3-1 victory over Ifeanyi Ubah football club, (FCIU).

Bala netted a first half brace while Bashir scored another as the People’s Elephant put themselves in line for yet another league title.

Bala had earlier put the Aba side in front with a beautifully worked goal after rounding the goalkeeper, but FCIU struck back with a beauty of their own, courtesy of an excellent James Promise free kick to make the scoreline 1-1.

Enyimba restored their lead before the break through another Bala strike, before Bashir sealed the win nine minutes after the break as he doubled Enyimba’s advantage to make it 3-1.

With the ensuing result Enyimba leapfrogged Kano Pillars to the top on nine points; just one ahead of the Kano-based team.

For FCIU, they remain the only side yet to record a point in the
NPFL Playoffs.
