The Ibadan home of the 4th Republic Senator who represented the Northern Senatorial District of Ondo State, Senator Titus Olupitan has been thrown to a devastating mourning following the death of his first son.
The deceased, a serving judge of the Ondo State Judiciary, Hon Justice Gilbert Bamidele Olupitan passed on at 55 years leaving behind his aged father, wife and children.
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN led some members of his cabinet to pay condolence visit to the home of Senator Titus Olupitan.
The governor also took a walk through to the home of the late Justice Olupitan in the same area of New Bodija Estate of Ibadan where he condoled with his wife and children.
A childhood friend of the deceased Mr Oladipo Olasope, SAN who mournfully regretted the loss, said he was yet to come to terms with the shocking death of his friend of over five decades.
He described him as a quite and humble jurist who never allowed his elevation to the Bench limit friendship with his friends in the Bar.
Mr Olasope said members of Nigerian Bar Association, Ibadan Branch, had planned to honour the deceased and himself at a dinner in the ongoing NBA Week.
Honourable Justice Gilbert Bamidele Olupitan was in June this year among the Justices of Ondo State Judiciary sworn-in by the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN.
Members of the State Executive Council who joined the governor on the visit include the Attorney General and Honourable Commissioner for Justice, Mr Adekola Olawoye, SAN and the Head of Service, Mr Dare Aragbaye
While the Chief Judge of Ondo State , Hon Justice Olutoyin Akeredolu led Hon Justice Bode Adegbehingbe and Hon Justice John Abe to represent the Ondo State Judiciary.
Honourable Justice Gilbert Bamidele Olupitan died on this Wednesday at the University Teaching Hospital, UCH , Ibadan.
