As the world celebrate Christmas today, the Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has called on the people of the state and Nigerians in general to love one another.
The call was contained in his Christmas message sent through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Segun Ajiboye on Monday.
The governor said the people of the state had good reasons to celebrate God’s faithfulness and goodness, especially during the festive period.
He said, “I want to remind the good people of this state to reflect on the essence of the birth of Jesus Christ, which requires them all to love one another and promote societal common good by making sacrifice for a better and peaceful Ondo State and a greater country.
“I strongly believe that only the best is good for the people of this state and I want to urge them to pray along with me to enable God to strengthen my administration’s resolve to transform the state and its people.”
He urged the people to use the opportunity of the season to reflect on individual contribution to the peace and progress of their immediate community and the state in general.
While noting that being alive to witness another Christmas remained a privilege, which calls for celebration, he advised that celebration should be done in moderation.
