Ondo state police command has paraded seven suspected kidnappers who claimed to be hunters from the northern part of the country.

The suspects were nabbed in Owo following a tip off  by some individuals that some men with a number of locally made guns were sighted in the town.

The state police spokesman, Femi Joseph in a chat with newsmen at the command headquarters in Akure said  investigation is ongoing on the matter and assured that the suspects will soon be charged to court.

“They claim be hunters from the north on hunting expedition around here.. We have however commenced thorough investigation into their claims.”

The police also paraded two suspects who specialize in receiving stolen property from robbers as well as recovered aToyota camry from them.

The command spokesman disclosed that some of their accomplices had already been been captured and will be charged to court in due course.

Joseph said that the command is also on the trail of some suspected kidnappers terrorising commuters plying the Benin/Ore Expressway.

He revealed that that efforts of the police recently led to the rescue of three victims  while the suspects escaped.

He however advised residents of the state to be security conscious and always report suspicious persons around them.
