Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has tasked custodians of culture and traditions in Ondo state on the need to prioritize the cultural heritage and give it desired publicity for the benefit of the younger generation.

Akeredolu who made the disclosure at the thanksgiving service to commemorate this year’s Ulefuta Festival which signifies the annual leave of the Deji of Akure held at St David’s cathedral, Akure noted that the agelong tradition has a prime place in the town and the state.

While stressing the need for people to know more about their past to plan the future, the governor maintained that the Ulefuta that has been on in the last one week is to make people know more about Akure tradition.

The Deji of Akure, Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo along with his Oloris, children, sons and daughters of Akure as well as well wishers of the monarch all came before the church to offer thanksgiving to God for the successful completion of the event.

The thanks giving service is the climax of the week long event to mark this year’s Ulefuta festival.
