Six traditional rulers in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State have dragged the Ajobu of Araromi Obu Kingdom, Oba Aderemi Adelola, before the State Government over alleged fraud, abuse of office and conversion of their monthly stipends.
The six Olojas, including, the Oloja of Kajola through their lawyer, Mr Tunde Ajayi regretted that for several years running, the Ajobu had, despite signing for and collecting their salaries, bluntly refused to pay them such entitlements.
They demanded for the immediate refund of the unpaid salaries and urged the State Government to urgently stop the monarch from meddling with their statutory entitlements forthwith.
In his reaction, Oba Adelola described the allegation as blatant lies and ridiculous, saying two of the traditional heads had been suspended over their fraudulent acts within their domain.
He confirmed receiving salaries on their behalf but stressed that he usually calls them to collect such money once it’s ready.
